Rhéal
Forgette founded a Telecommunication Consulting company in 1998, namely FCI in
the Sudbury, Ontario, Canada area. FCI takes a network from the conceptual phase
all the way to the deployment phase. As a Senior Consultant, he brings more then
14 years experience and an innovative “thinking out of the box” approach to
all projects.
Rhéal
holds two diplomas from Cambrian College in Electronic Engineering Technology
and an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Math from the University
of Guelph. He has several years with Bell Canada in Northern Ontario. He
serviced point-to-point microwave, trunking UHF/VHF voice radio systems,
designed, integrated, performed acceptance testing of access radio systems,
coordinated projects, managed staff and developed his knowledge in LAN
administration and database development. For almost a decade now, Rhéal has
provided technical expertise to various clients throughout the world including
Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Telus Mobility, Sprint PCS, Motorola,
Lucent Technologies, AirTouch, GTE Wireless, CricKet Communications and CTI. For
these clients, he held various roles from Senior Engineer to Lead Engineer
designing and implementing PCS systems and a technology expert for broadband
deployments using WiFi WLAN 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g technologies. The WLAN
system in a campus environment consisted of a migration of a 2-way voice
communications system with a VoIP system. In addition, the convergence of the
legacy PABX telephone system with the latest wired and wireless VoIP
technologies. These projects typically were from the design phase to the
commercialization and deployment phase. In his most recent assignment, he led
the commercialization roll out of the 3G 1xRTT technology for Telus Mobility in
the GTA. This included capacity planning for the mobile system for voice and
packet data. In the capacity, he became very familiar with packet data and
TCP/IP. He has extensive field experience in CDMA PCS systems integration,
spread spectrum design, microwave radio design, integration and acceptance,
access network custom designs, T1/E1 and fractional T1/E1 radio design and
implementation, wireless LAN technologies and general knowledge of fibre optic
design, SONET and SDH.
Technical Skills

Planning/Channel Modeling: RF planning and design using
propagation models such as dB Planner, MSI’s Planet, CE-4 from
Lucent Technologies, Pathloss, NetPlan and Granet. Fixed wireless
design in UHF, VHF, 900 Mhz, 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz Frequency bands. Cell
Planning in 800 Mhz and PCS bands for 2G and 3G 1xRTT using TDMA, CDMA,
